Role Summary With a strong focus on supporting the Magna Electronics division, this key leadership role is responsible for driving global strategic projects and initiatives to identify, evaluate and prioritize new products, markets, and M&A opportunities. This individual will work very closely with the Magna Electronics Senior Vice President and Product teams to support the development of long-term strategic planning and investment strategies, identification & analysis of new market development opportunities; and identification & analysis of competitors, customers and market conditions. This individual will help to nurture a culture of strategic thinking & business acumen throughout the management team. Additionally, where required, support with MML group initiatives will be required. Key Responsibilities o Responsible for leading Magna Electronics global strategic planning process:
development of product, customer, market, operational and resources plans. Aligns Product Groups and Functional heads to optimize management of resources for growth and profitability:
R&D, capital, & manufacturing capacity; supports Global Product Managers regarding development of global product growth and profitability strategies o Conducts strategic reviews to ensure the execution of the strategic plans; define clear milestones and metrics to assess the performance of strategic initiatives; tracks and delivers results to Sr. Leadership Team. o Drives integration of regional business strategies (Europe, Asian NA/SA) into globally coordinated efforts; Responsible for directing the exploration and evaluation of new markets aligned with strategic product portfolio and core competencies. Work with the regions to identify product and process gaps (i.e. vertical integration, technology shortfalls, etc.) that can enhance competitiveness. o Works with Global Product Groups to identify M&A opportunities that support their future business strategy; provide strategic assessments and support business case development and valuation; support M&A due diligence process (visits to M&A targets, facilitation of data collection, and liaison during negotiations); support Product Groups for successful post-acquisition integration. o Participate in global quote activity to ensure timely submission of customer quotes. Ensure that Magna hurdle rates are met and Magna approval processes are adhered to. o Responsible for identifying new market development opportunities & leading process of assessing new market opportunities whether newly explored technologies or expansions of existing products into new regions. o Responsible for the development of a global integrated format for market intelligence and ensuring tools are used to enhance strategic decision making; support regions & product groups with required market research. o Formulates strategies and processes for the collection and development of competitor, customer, and technology trends; translates the data into information to provide guidance and fuel sales growth. o Must uphold the Magna Employee's Charter, Magna Closures' Quality Policy & practices; and safety practices. o Additional duties and responsibilities as assigned, which may include supporting larger strategy or M&A projects within the broader Mechatronics, Mirrors and Lighting group or the broader Magna International Inc. organization. Key Qualifications/Requirements o 10
years of corporate development experience with a demonstrable track record and 3
years at a senior management level. o Excellent communication, presentation, influencing and facilitative skills and ability to work collaboratively across all levels of leadership. o Prior experience in joint ventures and other strategic alliances is a benefit. o Advanced strategic thinking, planning and project management skills. o Proven planning, financial analysis, and negotiation skills. o Ability to thrive in highly dynamic, time sensitive, and collaborative environment. o Strong business sense and the ability to quickly learn and analyze new markets. o Extensive experience negotiating complex legal contracts. o Proven self-starter who is effective working independently. o BA/BS Degree in business, finance or related technical field required, MBA preferred, but not required. Additional Information o There are no direct managerial or supervisory responsibilities. o Responsible for providing oversight and direction regarding investment strategies and mentoring & supporting staff in executing the strategies established by the MML / ME leadership team. 02--Business Development, Sales, Marketing F--Permanent/Regular
Salary Range:
$200K -- $250K
Minimum Qualification
