POSITION
Summary:
The Durability Engineer is a hands on vehicle expert to serve as the voice of the customer for vehicle level testing.
Responsibilities:
Ensure that customer issues are identified, reported and resolved prior to product launch
Conduct root cause analysis, hands-on vehicle evaluations/diagnosis
Application of diagnostic tools/equipment
Collecting and analyzing data
Reporting and documenting issues
Presenting information both written and verbal
Participating in/facilitating meetings
Directing drivers, mechanics and technicians
Competitive vehicle benchmarking
REQUIRED
Qualifications:
Bachelor of Science Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering
Hands-on vehicle experience
Knowledge of vehicle systems (Electrical preferred, Powertrain, BIW, Exterior, Interior, Chassis)
Application of diagnostic tools
Prior diagnostic tool experience / calibration experience
Ability to collect and synthesize data into meaningful information and communicate clearly to all levels of the organization
Effective verbal and written communication skills with the ability to deal with a variety of people
Working knowledge of computer systems and software
Proficient in Microsoft Office
Self-directed, team oriented with demonstrated planning/problem solving skills
Customer / Results oriented
Must work well independently and in team settings
Valid driver's license required to drive company vehicles
