POSITION SUMMARY
Support the laboratory development, production launch and maintenance of Powertrain Technical Center electro-mechanical components for the automotive market. This is generally accomplished through the skilled use of Engineering development lab tools and equipment in assembling and testing prototype hardware while demonstrating strong key competencies. Experience in the following areas is preferred: basic computer skills, data acquisition, basic measurement, airflow testing, leak testing, DC motors, durability testing, precision prototype assembly, etc. Accountabilities will include documentation of activities appropriate to the activity. Demonstrates characteristics that foster team progress, takes the initiative to take on challenging assignments and the ability to create opportunity where none exists.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

Procurement and Inventory of Components - Responsible for supporting the ordering, expediting and inventory tracking of prototype components.
Lab Development - Responsible for assembling prototype products. Responsible for testing of products at direction of the product engineers.
Design Validation - Responsible for performing DV testing and documenting test data for E/TS products.
Calibration and maintenance of lab equipment.
Support of manufacturing location problem solving initiatives as directed by product engineering.
Test & Instrumentation Skills - Responsible to maintain proficiency with evolving technologies through training and education.
Safety- Participate and be responsible for following all applicable Safety & Health procedures
Special Assignments - Responsible for support and completion of special assignments as required.
## Qualifications
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
Associates Degree or equivalent experience in a technical field.
Ability to read and understand engineering drawing and specification requirements.
Ability to operate laboratory test equipment typical to the product technology under development.
Experience in E/TS components or systems preferred.
Experience with general office computer tools (word processing, spreadsheets, office communications) desired.
