The QAD Business Analyst is responsible for the delivery of business application solutions leveraging the QAD application in support of specific functional areas. This position will work closely with assigned business units and with other IT team members, and will assist the IT Manager - Applications with the overall roadmap of IT business application projects and efforts.
The QAD Business Analyst position requires business application support skills (especially with QAD) and basic project management skills. Specific duties and responsibilities include the following.
Starting Responsibilities
Cleaning up implementation
Working with plants to standardize processes
Understands business operations and business systems - primarily QAD, but also related Supply Chain solutions (EDI, Customs Forms, Supplier Portals).
Acts as the liaison between the business functions and Information Technology.
Determines technical and business process solutions and implements them in conjunction with other IT staff and the business.
Elicits and translates business requirements into functional specifications for internal and external developers.
Critically evaluates information gathered from multiple sources, to design, develop and deliver an efficient solution to address the business requirements.
Determines potential technical and process solutions and tests them for both business and technical capability.
Manages small to medium sized development projects and reports status to stakeholders on a regular basis
Answers questions/concerns from internal client community.
Follows company Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) methodology. This includes :
Writing requirements/specification documentation.
Managing/performing change during the technical design phase.
Writing and executing test plans.
Performing solution integration testing.
Updating QAD work instructions and process maps.
Working with internal clients on final testing.
Working with internal clients to support end-user training.
Ensuring required process changes are completed and business is prepared for change.
Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Business or related field with a minimum of 5-10 years experience in a business analyst role with QAD solutions focused on an applicable functional business area.

Excellent verbal & written communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group of executives, managers, and subject matter experts.
Ability to work on multiple requests and initiatives simultaneously.
Capable of working in a matrix environment with multiple stakeholders.
Ability to exercise independent judgment to perform essential duties.
Ability to be extremely organized and multi-task with various assignments.
Ability to use conventional email and office software (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint to communicate IT concepts, project/program plans, etc). General understanding of IT components including telecommunications, application architecture and compliance.
Familiarity with ERPs (specifically QAD, Mapics). Knowledge of Infor a plus.
Peferred but not required:
Familiarity/Knowledgre of Progress Software, Taylor Pro, Ipurchase, or Cyber Query

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
